Ms. Sonam Choden
Ms. Sonam Choden holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration, specialising in Marketing and Human Resource Management from Bangalore University, India. She also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the Royal University of Bhutan. Her teaching expertise spans management and business law, combining academic knowledge with practical insights. Her professional experiences include an international exchange program and internship with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in California, USA, as well as work with the NIIT project in Bhutan. She is deeply passionate about teaching, mentoring, and inspiring the younger generation. Outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling and photography.
Mr. Arindam Ghosh
Mr. Arindam Ghosh is from Siliguri, India. He obtained his B.Com degree from the University of Burdwan and his M.Com degree from the University of Kalyani. He has 16 years of industry experience as well as teaching experience in North Bengal St. Xavier's College and Gyan Jyoti College at North Bengal University. He is also a professionally qualified Cost Accountant and a Fellow member of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. Presently, Mr. Ghosh holds the post of honorary Chairman of the Siliguri-Gangtok Chapter of the Institute. He has enrolled himself as a Research Scholar for Ph.D. at the University of Kalyani in India. His interest includes photography, traveling, and watching movies.
Mr. Madhav Verma
Mr. Madhav Verma is an Indian national born in Phuentsholing, Bhutan. He holds a Master’s in Commerce (Business Administration) and a Bachelor’s in Commerce (Honours) from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He also earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (2019) from Samtse College of Education, an MBA in Finance from IGNOU (2019), and is currently pursuing an MA in Entrepreneurship through IGNOU. Before joining academia, he worked as an accountant with two chartered accountancy firms in Delhi and taught accounts and finance to students of Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), bringing valuable industry experience to his teaching. He also served in various capacities on the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’i’s of Delhi and volunteered at the Baha’i House of Worship and with NGOs. Since Fall 2010, he has been part of the Business faculty at Royal Thimphu College, with over 15 years of teaching, mentoring, and academic leadership. His research focuses on entrepreneurship; he contributed to EU-funded ENCORE and RECALL projects on quality, ethics, and green-skills training. An AI-certified educator and co-founder of AILopens, he integrates AI into teaching and trains faculty, and consults Bhutanese firms on accounting systems, SOPs, and tax compliance. In his free time, he enjoys singing, painting, and traveling.
Mr. Hari Kumar Tiwari
Mr. Hari Kumar Tiwari is from Dagana, Bhutan and he has an MSc in Mathematics from Gandhi Institute of Biological Science, affiliated to Berhampur University Odisha (India), and BSc from Sherubtse College, Kanglung. He has 9 years of teaching experience in higher secondary schools in Bhutan. Prior to Joining Royal Thimphu College, he served as Head of Mathematics and IT Department in Rinchen Higher Secondary, Thimphu. His interest lies in teaching young people and helping the community.
Ms. Namrata Pradhan
Ms. Namrata Pradhan is an experienced professional with key strengths in teaching and training, business management, and team building. She is a self-motivated, analytical thinker with effective communication skills, and is very open to adopting different working cultures and environments. She has an educational specialization in the field of Marketing and HR; and a professional specialization in the field of general management, Hospitality, and Education. She started her career as an area coordinator at Kingfisher training academy, for a year and then joined Gaeddu College Of Business Studies as a Lecturer, serving there for a term of 7 years, teaching various modules in HR and Marketing and was a key faculty, teaching Strategic Management. During her tenure there, she was also an active member, mentoring both undergraduate and MBA research students.
Mr. Dipan Pradhan
Mr. Dipan is a practicing entrepreneur and a passionate educator who has a wide experience in teaching, coaching, and mentoring Bhutanese youths. He motivates the young minds to create opportunities through innovation and entrepreneurship. He is also a CEFE-certified trainer in entrepreneurship and is the founder of Startup First Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship dedicated to making Bhutan socio-economically independent through the start-up revolution. Dipan has fifteen years of collective experience in the corporate and teaching field and believes in bringing practical business experiences as a value addition in the theoretical aspects of classroom teaching and learning.
Dr. Stephen Victor
Dr. Stephen Victor is a Mechanical Engineer from Chennai in southern India. He started his career with the public sector company, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) in India. After completing his MBA in Human Resource Management, he launched into Healthcare Management at a Medical College & Hospital in Punjab, northern India. In addition to heading the Engineering and Facilities Management of the healthcare institution, he has conducted training programmes/assessments providing accreditation support for more than 75 hospitals pan India. As part of his Ph.D. thesis, he built a Strategic Management tool for the Indian Healthcare Industry. His research output has been published in leading journals such as ABDC. He underwent an intensive training programme in Mannheim, Germany, on curriculum development and pedagogy conducted by the German Government. He is a motivator and a mentor with a zeal for working towards specific goals. Playing music on the guitar is his passion, and he is always ready for a game of chess.
Dr. Swati Chakraborty
Dr Swati Chakraborty hails from Kolkata, India. She graduated top of her class in BSc Economics and went on to earn an MSc in Economics with a specialisation in International Economics from Calcutta University. She also holds an MBA in Operations Management (IGNOU), a Postgraduate Diploma in Operational Research (Operational Research Society of India), and a PhD in Governance and Quality Assurance Management (Calcutta University). With 27 years of experience in both industry and academia, Dr Chakraborty has built a distinguished career. She served as a Project Research Assistant with Schor-Carr and Associates for seven years, followed by two years as a Lecturer at the Allahabad University Offshore Campus in Kolkata. She then worked for five years as a Senior Lecturer for BBA and MBA students at Garden City College, Bangalore. Dr Chakraborty has published extensively in both national and international journals and is the author of several books. She has received numerous accolades, including the Best Teacher Award from the Kolkata Bidhannagar Society for Academic Advancement. She also serves on the editorial boards of several journals. Beyond her academic achievements, Dr Chakraborty is an accomplished singer and has won many awards for her performances. Her artistic interests extend to theatre as well, where she has performed in both plays and musical productions.
Mr. Tika Ram Bhandari
Mr. Tika Ram Bhandari is a management and tax consultant specialized in the field of Accounting, Finance, and business development. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management. He also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance & an emphasis in Marketing. His experience includes working with Multinational banks and Insurance companies in India. He served as a Finance Controller in a Construction Company, a teacher at Higher Secondary School, and Economist at International Fund for Agricultural Development. He served as a National Consultant and local capacity builder with SNV, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Economic Affairs. He is specialized in Hotel Accounting, Construction Accounting, Real Estate accounting, and retail businesses. In addition, he has experience in Socio-Economic Research, Business Incubation, Company Incorporation, and Liquidation. His area of expertise includes Accounting, internal auditing, and management consulting. He also has strong competencies in Business Planning, Proposal Writing, and Tax Consultancy including Training and Capacity Building.
Mr. Bhuwan Shrivastava
Mr. Bhuwan Shrivastava is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in entrepreneurship and academics. He holds an MBA degree with a specialization in International Business from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and an Executive Certificate in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur. He has also completed an Advanced Diploma in HRM from the Centre for Management Education, All India Management Association, New Delhi. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. from Amity University, Raipur. With over 17 years of entrepreneurship experience in the field of printing and publication, Bhuwan has gained valuable insights into business management and operations. He has successfully managed his printing and publication business, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills. In addition to his entrepreneurship experience, Bhuwan has over 13 years of experience in academics as Visiting and Adjunct Faculty with various Management Institutions. He has taught courses in the areas of Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, and Organizational Behavior. Bhuwan's passion for research has led him to publish articles in reputed academic journals, and he is currently working on publishing his book on Organizational Behaviour.
Mr. Dilli Ram Sharma
Mr. Dilli Ram Sharma is from Pasakha, Bhutan. He holds a B.Com from Surya Sen College in Siliguri which is affiliated with the North Bengal University, a Bachelor's of Education from Loyola College of Education in Namchi (Sikkim), and a Master's degree (M.Com) with a specialization in finance from the Bhopal School of Social Sciences in India. Before joining RTC he worked in Kelki HSS and Reldri HSS as a teacher of Accountancy and Commerce and later took up a freelance consultancy in accounting. Besides his interest in academics, he also enjoys playing volleyball and badminton.
Mr. Ugyen Phuntsho
Mr. Ugyen Phuntsho is from Tongzhang, Trashi Yangtse, Bhutan. He completed his Master's Degree in Business Administration with specialization in finance from Gedu College of Business Studies, Royal University of Bhutan. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Geography from Sherubtse College, RUB. Before joining RTC, he worked in Rinchen Higher Secondary School as a Teacher. Besides teaching he enjoys reading, traveling, sports, and music.
Mr. Sonam
Mr. Sonam is from Wangdue Phodrang, Bhutan. He completed his Bachelor's degree from Sherubtse College, Kanglung in BSc Computer Science, and also holds a master in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance for Gedu College of Business Studies. He has more than 5 years of experience in Project management and consulting works, undertaking the capacity of project coordinator and analyst to implement various government projects like 'Construction Managers Software' used by engineers of MoWHS, etc. Besides his interest in academics, he is also interested in playing both indoor and outdoor games.
Ms. Soumya Pandey
Ms. Soumya Pandey holds a degree in Commerce, specializing in finance & taxation from Gargi College, University of Delhi. She has a Postgraduate degree in Commerce from SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi. She has topped her college in the Postgraduate course and is presently pursuing her Ph.D. from XLRI-Xavier School of Management in Finance. She is a UGC-NET qualified Lecturer. She has five years of teaching experience in finance and taxation and other specializations of management in leading universities and colleges in India. Her areas of academic interest are Corporate Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility, and global financial markets. She is also a trained teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Delhi. She is an avid reader and loves to travel.
Mr. Tandin Wangchuk
Mr. Tandin Wangchuk hails from Amshing, Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan. He holds an MBA (Finance) from Gedu College of Business Studies. He did his PGDE (Mathematics) from Samtse College of Education and obtained his degree in Applied Physical Science from Sherubtse College. Prior to joining RTC, he served as a mathematics teacher at Rinchen Higher Secondary School (RHSS) for almost 9 years. During his tenure at RHSS, he served as the Head of the Department for Mathematics & IT, and also as a professional development coordinator. He loves reading and writing and has authored 4 books so far. His interest lies in teaching young people, helping the community, and adventuring.
Ms. Millan Subba
Ms. Millan Subba is from Southern Bhutan. She completed her undergraduate studies in Business Administration from Royal Thimphu College and her MBA from the University of Canberra, RIM Campus in Bhutan. Ms. Millan worked as a Human Resources Officer for almost seven years before taking up a role as an academician at the Royal Thimphu College. Her interest lies in the field of HR, Management, and Entrepreneurship. She loves reading, music, and dancing.
Ms. Yuzer Peldon
Ms. Yuzer Peldon is from Haa, Bhutan. She completed her Master's in Business Administration from the University of Canberra, RIM Campus in Bhutan. She has four months of teacher training from the Institute of Management Studies and three years of teaching experience in Thailand. She loves reading books, cooking, and hiking.
Ms. Gembo Lhamo
Ms. Gembo Lhamo graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Texas at El Paso, USA. She worked for different accounting firms in the USA in providing taxation and accounting services to clients. She believes through teaching she can learn and help guide future generations at the same time. Besides teaching, she loves to read, hike and travel.
Ms. Tshering Wangmo
Ms. Tshering Wangmo holds a Masters Degree in Economic Policy Management from Columbia University, New York, USA and Bachelors in Commerce (Honors) from Sherubtse College, Kanglung. She worked at the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan as the Director of the Department of Payments and Settlement Systems before joining RTC. With over two decades in the central bank, she has working experience in diverse fields of monetary policies, banking and finance, reserve management, and digital payments. She served as a member in several national and international financial community organizations. Tshering is also a certified trainer of trainers and an adjunct faculty at Financial Institutions Training Institute of Bhutan since 2015. Her personal interests include food, travel, and sports.
Dr. Suresh Acharya
Dr. Suresh Acharya graduated from Mumbai University and holds a Diploma in Technical and Applied Science from Veermata Jeejabai Technological Institute, Mumbai (VJTI), Mumbai. He completed MBA from Chulalongkorn University's prestigious Sasin Business School, which is accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and offers MBA programmes in association with Kellogg's and Wharton Business School in the United States. His research interest is in Viral marketing, and he has worked extensively with models of technology acceptance and adoption. He has held positions in academics lecturing MBA, Executive and Bachelors programmes for 13 years. He also attended numerous conferences and gave multiple presentations. Prior to academics, he spent almost ten years working in industry mostly in export marketing and managing marketing assignments in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Australia, S-E Asia.
Mr. Gnana Suresh
Mr. Gnana Suresh is from Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his Master's Degree in Commerce from St.Josephs' College, Bharatidasan University, Tiruchi. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialisation in Business Studies. Prior to joining RTC, he served in Kelki Higher Secondary School and as the Head of the Business Studies Department at Norbuling Rigter College, Paro. Besides teaching, he loves reading and listening to music.
Mr. Gopal Giri
Mr. Gopal Giri is from Sipsu in Samtse Dzongkhag, holds a Master's degree in Economics with a specialisation in Econometrics from the University of Sydney, Australia, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with Honours from Sherubtse College. Before joining the Royal Thimphu College (RTC), he served as the Chief Economist at the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan for 20 years. He was the recipient of the Australian Leadership Award in 2008 and has also held the position of Chairman of the Board Audit Committee at the Bhutan Development Bank. Mr. Giri’s expertise lies in macro-economic research and policy analysis, domestic liquidity management, sustainable finance, and coordination with regional central banks and international financial institutions. Recently, he played a key role in formulating Bhutan’s post-pandemic economic recovery strategy. He was involved in the development of a web-based integrated domestic liquidity management system and the critical analysis of the 21st Century Economic Roadmap. Additionally, he formulated and implemented a new interest rate policy, the minimum lending rate system and the priority sector lending policy in the financial sector. He has led several flagship projects, including the establishment of a macroeconomic data warehousing and analytics system, as well as the development of high-frequency economic indicators for Bhutan. With extensive experience in macroeconomic policy-making, Mr. Giri has participated in various economic and financial sector forums, both nationally and within the SAARC countries. His special interests encompass economic development in low-income countries, sustainable finance, and climate change.
